Oppn raises irregularities in land mutation process, govt assures action

Ranchi: The irregularities and corruption in the mutation of land and the issue of receipts dominated the opening session of the state assembly on Friday. Members also raised issues regarding the implementation of the Advocates Protection Act and other matter.During the proceedings, MLA Rajesh Kachhhap claimed that those who purchased land before 2000 were unable to get the mutation done and demanded a solution.Taking part in the debate, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi said that land receipts were not being issued without bribe. MLA Navin Jaiswal demanded that special camps be held to make all land records online.Deepak Birua, state minister for revenue, registration and land reforms, assured that the existing fault in the process would be removed, adding that action would be taken against the concerned officer if they were found guilty.

MLA Pradeep Prasad asked whether the state govt would implement the Advocates Protection Act. The minister, Deepak Birua, said that the issue was related to the Bar Council of India, adding that the govt was considering various issues related to advocates’ welfare.Torpa MLA Sudip Gudia told the House that there were no ultrasound machine and anaesthetist in Torpa referral hospital, adding that pregnant women had to be carried to other hospitals. Health minister Irfan Ansari said that an ultrasound machine would soon be operational in the health facility.
