Isolated rainfall accompanied by strong winds was reported from different parts of the district on Thursday (July 17). Though the department had earlier declared a red alert for Kozhikode for the day, no rainfall-related incidents were reported from the district till 8 p.m.

The Revenue authorities on Wednesday (July 16) had relocated 49 people belonging to 16 families in Maruthonkara village to safer places following a sudden rise in water level in the Kadantharapuzha, a tributary of the Kuttiyadi river. There were unconfirmed reports of a minor landslip in an uninhabited place near Pasukadavu. Movement of heavy vehicles through the Thamarassery and Kuttiyadi ghat roads has been restricted until further notice. Schools were given a day off on Thursday.
