KASHISH 2025 Online Film Festival is set to stream over 100 LGBTQ+ films globally from August 15 to September 15. Presented by the KASHISH Arts Foundation, the festival aims to amplify the visibility of queer films and filmmakers, making these stories accessible to a wider audience, including students, educators, and closeted individuals.
Bringing queer stories to screens across the world, the KASHISH 2025 Online Film Festival is streaming over 100 LGBTQ+ films from across the globe, making the month-long celebration of cinema accessible to audiences far beyond Mumbai — from students and educators to differently abled persons and even closeted individuals watching in the privacy of their homes.
Running from August 15 to September 15, the online festival will stream 102 films from 29 countries through the festival website. “The online programme is a curated experience featuring select films from the in-person lineup, fresh additions to the slate, and special features such as filmmaker introductions and audience reactions. The aim is to amplify the visibility of films and filmmakers who deserve a global audience while creating opportunities for deeper engagement,” said Sridhar Rangayan, festival director. “The online edition is also an access initiative — allowing students, educators, activists, allies, differently abled persons, and even closeted LGBTQ+ individuals to participate from the comfort and privacy of their homes. By making these stories accessible worldwide, the festival expands its conversation around queer lives and rights into a year-round movement,” added Saagar Gupta, artistic director. Each week, the festival will release four feature films and four to five short film programs, with trailers available in advance.
In addition, 12 bonus films will be free to watch for all audiences. Nearly half of the films are available worldwide. Viewers can opt for a full-festival pass or choose individual films and short film packages through a pay-per-view model. The KASHISH 2025 Online Film Festival is presented by the KASHISH Arts Foundation, with support from partners including the Mariwala Health Initiative, Keshav Suri Foundation, and The Lalit. --- Would you like me to also give this a crisp 2–3 line intro version (for a newspaper blurb/box item) alongside the full feature rewrite?
