Over 3.6k RTE student records yet to be uploaded on Haryana portal

Gurgaon: Over 3,600 student records under the Right to Education (RTE) quota have not been verified and updated on the state portal, with Gurgaon, Faridabad and Nuh topping the pendency list.Authorities said that out of a total of 21,752 students whose data was to be uploaded, only 18,079 entries have been updated so far, revealing a major lapse in timely data submission by schools and thereby delaying the admission process.According to official figures, Gurgaon recorded 808 applications, of which 678 have been verified. In Faridabad, the situation is even worse, with only 791 applications out of 1,519 being completed.

Nuh also shows major gaps, with 363 out of 444 applications being verified.Officials attribute the delay primarily to negligence by private schools, which are required to upload admission, reporting and tracking data of RTE beneficiaries on the portal. Despite repeated directions, compliance has remained inconsistent. The elementary education department has now reopened the portal until June 17 as a final opportunity for schools to complete pending updates.

Earlier, multiple deadlines had been issued — including April 30, May 5, May 13, May 21, May 26 and June 3 — but several institutions failed to meet them.Authorities warned that failure to comply with the revised timeline could invite strict action, including blocking access to the MIS portal for defaulting schools. Officials stressed that real-time data entry is critical for tracking admissions, reimbursements and ensuring transparency in RTE implementation.

They added that while some districts have performed well, the overall shortfall remains a concern given the scale of the programme. The department has reiterated that all recognised private schools must update the admission status of allotted students promptly. Officials said no further extension is likely, signalling a stricter enforcement approach to ensure accountability and completion of the RTE data process across Haryana
