Lucknow: State govt on Wednesday regularised the jobs of 3,346 education personnel posted in District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) across 70 districts.The decision aims at providing long-term institutional stability to teacher training systems and enhancing the quality of education in the state.In a govt order, additional chief secretary, basic and secondary education, Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma stated that several academic and administrative posts that have been functioning on a temporary basis for decades are now permanent.“These positions, originally created between 1989 and 2004, have been deemed essential for sustaining teacher training, academic leadership and research functions within the state’s education system,” Sharma said in his order.The regularisation covers a wide range of posts, including 70 principals and vice principals each, 420 senior lecturers, 1,190 lecturers and 560 posts including technical, administrative and support staff.“This step is expected to bring greater continuity, accountability and efficiency in the functioning of DIETs,” said a govt spokesperson.DIETs play a crucial role in implementing key initiatives such as the NEP 2020, the NIPUN Bharat Mission, foundational literacy and numeracy programmes and early childhood education through Bal Vatika.
By providing a stable human resource framework, the govt, said officials, aims to accelerate academic innovation, research and effective curriculum delivery.Director, State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT), Ganesh Kumar, said: “It’s a significant decision that will build a sustainable, modern and outcome-oriented education system in UP, with long-term benefits for both teachers and students.”
