Pakistan’s Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir could play a key role in advancing the country’s population-control efforts, according to a report by Dawn.

Munir, widely regarded as Pakistan’s de facto power centre, has increasingly expanded his influence beyond the military, taking on a prominent role in shaping the country’s foreign policy and broader strategic decisions.

Pakistan has a long history of relying on its armed forces and senior military leadership for responsibilities that extend beyond national defence, with the military wielding considerable influence over governance, diplomacy and policymaking.
