Daltonganj: Palamu district police on Saturday announced that it would intensify its crackdown against narcotics under ‘Operation Prahar’.Palamu SP Kapil Chaudhary said, “The action plan is four-pronged. The crackdown will be against cultivation, storage, transportation, and sale of drugs in an attempt to destroy the entire network.
All police stations have been asked to adopt zero tolerance policy against drugs and its peddlers, irrespective of the quantity they possess.
”Meanwhile, a total of 21.91 kg of marijuana have been seized and two peddlers arrested in the past two days. One Ashok Ram, 55, was arrested with 21 kg of marijuana from the Paton police station area on Saturday. He was accused of cultivating, storing, and selling the contraband for long. A day earlier, one Nesar Ansari was arrested with 91 gm of marijuana from the Town police station limits and forwarded to judicial custody, police added.
