The comedy entertainer, featuring over 100 actors and numerous animals, explores village chaos sparked by rumors and moral panic. Tovino Thomas lends his voice to the film's narrator, a dog named Suttu.

Actor Rajesh Madhavanan’s debut directorial ‘Pennum Porattum’ is heading for release on February 13, and the makers have dropped the trailer. The trailer opens with a statutory warning that says no animals were harmed during the filming.

This is quite relevant given that it showcases animals of all kinds - domesticated and wild, as the mayhem unfolds.Actor Tovino Thomas lends voice for Suttu, the dog and narrator of the tale. The trailer suggests that a romantic request by a young man named Kumar for Charu lands in the wrong ears. ‘Pennum Porattum’ helmed by Rajesh Madhavan will hit the big screens ahead of Valentine’s Day, February 13. Scripted by debutant Ravishankar, the film is a comedy entertainer. The film revolves around a village thrown into chaos by rumours, moral panic, and misplaced righteousness. The film has over 100 actors, mostly newcomers. It should be recalled that the film premiered at the 56th International Film Festival of India and was later screened at the 30th International Film Festival of Kerala in 2025.

On the technical side, the film has a talented crew of cinematographer Sabin Uralikandy, editor Chaman Chakko, and composer Dawn Vincent. Following its theatrical release, ‘Pennum Porattum’ will have a digital debut on Netflix. “Pulling off a subject with 100+ newcomers, 250+ animals is not easy. Hats off to the entire team,” one of the makers of the film said, confirming digital release.
