Periasamy Kumaran appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to UK

India has appointed Shri Periasamy Kumaran as the the next High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Thursday (March 26, 2026). Mr. Kumaran is currently Secretary in the Ministry.

“He is expected to take up the assignment shortly,” the Ministry said in a statement.

Mr. Kumaran has previously served as Special Secretary (ER & DPA) in the Ministry of External Affairs.
