New Delhi: Google has officially unveiled its Personal Intelligence in the Gemini application for users in India. This feature is especially designed to make Gemini’s responses more relevant by adding personal context from select Google applications.
This feature is intended to make the AI assistant more useful by just connecting it with the user’s personal Google applications. After activation, users can get benefit to access data from services such as Gmail, Photos, YouTube, and Search to deliver the more context-aware responses and assist with daily tasks more effectively.
This feature is only being rolled out for eligible Google AI subscribers in India first, with plans to extend access to free users in the coming weeks. It also works to access the web, Android, and iOS once enabled. This feature enables Gemini to understand users’ digital activity across different Google applications and use that information to offer tailored responses.
It also connects the applications like Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Search in one place, but only if the users also choose to enable it.
This system focuses on two key abilities: extracting specific details from user data and combining information from multiple sources to answer more complex questions. This feature is especially designed to reduce the need to switch between applications.
It does not just search; it also tries to understand context, which actually means it can create a timeline, indicate ideas, or retrieve specific details based on information from connected applications.
Users can also regenerate replies without personalization for specific chats or use temporary chats to interact without any personal context. Gemini might sometimes miss context, especially with things like relationship changes or personal interests.
Users must manually allow it and choose which applications to connect. Users can also disconnect the application or turn the feature off anytime. Gemini does not directly train on personal data from Gmail or Photos. Rather, it uses that data only to respond to specific queries. The users can also check how the answers are generated and request more details if needed.
