The Premier League served up chaos at both ends of the table on Saturday — with Arsenal reclaiming top spot and a full-blown relegation scrap tightening beneath them.

Eze Lifts Arsenal

Eberechi Eze struck early to hand Arsenal a nervy 1-0 win over Newcastle United, a result that could prove massive in the title race.

Just two weeks ago, the Gunners were cruising with a nine-point cushion. Back-to-back defeats to AFC Bournemouth and Manchester City wiped that out, leaving the title fight on a knife-edge.

With City busy sealing an FA Cup semi-final win, Arsenal had the chance and took it.

Eze’s long-range strike, set up by Kai Havertz, settled the nerves, even if the performance didn’t fully convince.

“We had the necessity to win the game, the margins are very short, and we got through it," said boss Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal now sit level on points with City but edge ahead… at least for now.

The bigger picture? A shot at their first league title since 2004, with Guardiola’s relentless machine still breathing down their neck.

Spurs Finally Taste Victory

Tottenham Hotspur finally tasted victory in 2026, beating Wolves 1-0,  in what could be a turning point in their otherwise dismal campaign.

New boss Roberto De Zerbi didn’t hold back: “We have to believe… we have the quality."

But relief was short-lived.

West Ham United struck back dramatically, with Callum Wilson netting a 92nd-minute winner to beat Everton 2-1, restoring a crucial cushion.

“It is going to be until the end… keep fighting," said Nuno Espirito Santo.

Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest smashed Sunderland 5-0 to ease their own fears, while Liverpool climbed into the top four with a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, though Mohamed Salah limped off injured.
