Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni held bilateral talks in Rome.
PM Modi’s visit to Italu is part of the last leg of his visit to five nations.
After reaching Italy on Tuesday evening, PM Modi took to X to share a candid picture with Meloni seated together in a car in Rome. The video of the two leaders taking a tour of the historic Colosseum in Italy, was also shared on social media platforms.
“This visit will focus on how to boost India-Italy cooperation, especially focusing on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). The Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-2029 will also be reviewed," he said in a post on X.

Meloni, who extended a warm welcome to “friend" PM Modi, posted a selfie with him at the Colosseum and wrote, “Welcome to Rome, my friend."
During the visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded the military guard of honour in Rome, on the second day of his visit to Italy.
In a post on X, PM Modi said: “Met President Sergio Mattarella in Rome. We discussed different aspects relating to the India-Italy friendship, including trade, investment and cultural linkages. We talked about how our nations can collaborate in areas such as AI, critical minerals, space and nuclear energy."
