PM Modi’s frequent visits to T.N. will backfire on NDA, says CM Stalin

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday (February 25, 2026) asserted that the more frequently Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tamil Nadu, the bigger would be the margin of defeat of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

While addressing an event held to distribute welfare assistance to beneficiaries in Nagercoil, Mr. Stalin said, “As it is election season, the Prime Minister will be visiting Tamil Nadu more frequently, and he has already begun doing so.” Stating that Mr. Modi’s allies are anxious about his visits, Mr. Stalin noted, “The more frequently he comes here, the bigger the NDA’s margin of defeat.”

The Chief Minister said that the people of Tamil Nadu would remember that the Prime Minister had done nothing for the State. “Even yesterday [February 24], the Cabinet approved a Metro Rail project for Gujarat, but nothing for Tamil Nadu. Even with the elections approaching, nothing was allocated in the Budget either,” he charged.

Mr. Stalin stressed that the forthcoming election is Tamil Nadu versus the NDA, and reiterated: “Tamil Nadu must be ruled from Fort St. George. A situation in which it is ruled from Delhi should not arise. This election is meant to decide that.”

He further observed that the BJP wanted to bring down and defeat Tamil Nadu in every way. He questioned, “What steps have been taken to protect Tamil Nadu fishermen? When will the arrest and assault of our fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy end?”

Mr. Stalin observed that BJP had come to power 12 years ago promising that they would resolve the issue. “Who controls the External Affairs Ministry and Navy?” he asked.

Speaking about the AIADMK-BJP alliance, he said the latter “is relying on a substandard engine called the BJP, and BJP is relying on a sinking ship called AIADMK.” He added: “The Dravidian model government is a superfast engine, with a double-digit growth of 11.19%, and it is moving forward at a pace that no one can catch up with. We will be back with Dravidian Model 2.0, and we will surpass the achievements we ourselves have made in our second innings,” Mr. Stalin asserted.

Ministers Mano Thangaraj, Geetha Jeevan, Anitha Radhakrishnan, and T.R.B. Rajaa; Kanniyakumari MP Vijay Vasanth; Congress MLAs S. Rajesh Kumar, J.G. Prince, and Tharahai Cuthbert; Tamil Nadu Food Commission Chairperson N. Suresh Rajan; and Nagercoil Corporation Mayor R. Mahesh were present.
