Davanagere: The special Pocso court on Thursday adjourned the hearing on the regular bail plea filed by Vachanananda Swamiji of the Veerashaiva Lingayat Panchamasali Gurupeeth in Harihar in connection with a Pocso case.
The matter will now be heard on July 3.After his anticipatory bail was cancelled, the seer appeared before the special Pocso court on June 27 and filed a regular bail petition. During Wednesday’s proceedings, government prosecutors representing the minor victim and the advocate appearing for the boy’s mother separately raised objections to the petition. Following the submissions, the court posted the matter for further hearing at 3 pm on Friday.A Pocso case was registered against the seer at the Harihar Rural police station following allegations that he sexually harassed a 16-year-old boy.Earlier, the seer had secured anticipatory bail in the case. However, the relief was later set aside after the boy’s mother challenged the order before the high court.
