Police in search of youth accused of attacking woman in Thiruvambady

The police are on the lookout for a youth who allegedly attacked a woman while she was walking along a road in Thiruvambady on Saturday (August 23, 2025).

The disturbing incident, which came to light through CCTV footage, sparked protests and prompted the police to launch a comprehensive investigation.

According to residents who claimed to have witnessed the incident, two women were on the road when the youth launched the attack. They said one of the women had allegedly slapped him following a ruckus, which eventually led to the counter-attack.

Police sources said the accused had been identified and would be taken into custody soon. They added that CCTV visuals also showed the woman attacking him after a heated exchange of words.
