Ara: Bhojpur police arrested two men and recovered the entire looted sum of Rs 4.74 lakh after a chase on Friday evening. The criminals, fleeing on a motorbike after robbing a CSP operator at gunpoint near the Sandesh powergrid, were caught following prompt action by local police.Bhojpur SP Raj told reporters on Saturday, “The police seized the pistol, five live cartridges and the bike used in the robbery. The two criminals, Pintu Kumar, a resident of Khanet village under Pawna police station in Bhojpur district, and his accomplice Amit Kumar, a resident of Pawna, were also arrested after a hot pursuit given by Ajimabad police station personnel. The role of an alert home guard jawan was also crucial in the arrest of criminals and recovery of the whole looted amount within an hour of the incident by the cops, who all will be rewarded for their prompt action in the case by the state police headquarters.
”Along with the cash, police recovered five passbooks, three cheque books, a bag and a cellphone from the possession of the arrested men.According to the police, the quick intervention and coordination between the home guard and Ajimabad police station ensured that the robbers were caught before they could escape the district. The SP said the state police headquarters has taken note of the swift recovery and will felicitate the personnel involved.
