The contract lecturers working in polytechnic colleges in Andhra Pradesh have requested Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to regularise their services.
In a statement on Saturday, A.P. Polytechnic All Contract Lecturers’ Association’s State president A.R. Govardhan Naidu and general secretary B. Krishna said the 309 contract lecturers working in polytechnic colleges in the State were subjected to serious financial problems.
They said filling of vacant posts in the education sector through Mega DSC was a welcome step, which brought relief to the aspiring teachers who eagerly awaited the recruitment drive.
They also welcomed the release of the job calendar by the government recently and the more recent approval of Amaravati as the only capital of Andhra Pradesh in Parliament.
“However, regularisation of our services is a long-pending request. If approved, it will bring relief to the families of the 309 contract lecturers,” they said.
