'Pookie' trailer: Ajay Dhishan starrer creates buzz, promises love, break-up, and emotions

The trailer of 'Pookie,' produced by Vijay Antony, has been released and is already creating a strong buzz. With just two days left for the film’s release on February 13, the makers have given audiences a clear glimpse into the film’s mood and story.

The 2.22-minute trailer promises a light-hearted romantic entertainer with emotions, fun moments, and drama. It sets the tone of the movie as a simple love-dovey movie with lots of happiness, heartache, and humor, and focuses on relationships and love: break-ups and confusion.

The trailer opens with a voiceover by Silambarasan (STR) that grabs our attention. It then introduces Ajay Dhishan’s character as a young man who has faced several relationship failures.

His life changes when he falls in love with RK Dhanusha’s character. Theirs is a love story set up nicely and appears blessed with delectability and bonding. But later finds tragedy and breakup for an unknown cause, as the trailers do not disclose. Later times rewind, and interesting moments of reality check up after the breakup. The breakup the movie reveals is unique and comprehensible to the average person.

One scene resonates when a friend calls him a “habitual abuser.”

That is the humor the movie attempts to project.

Strong supporting cast and Vijay Antony’s mystery role

The trailer showcases some phenomenal supporting cast members who add enormous value to this film. Pandiarajan plays the character of Ajay Dhishan’s father, and Sunil, Lakshmi Manchu, Indumathi Manigandan, Aaditya Kathir, and Vivek Prasanna have all played important roles in this film! Nevertheless, a mysterious twist is added near the end of the trailer, with another voiceover mentioning a ‘villain’ in the movie.

We then get a glimpse of Vijay Antony, who seems detached and aloof while playing a musical instrument in somewhat of a trance-like state. This is an interesting twist and will surely add some intrigue to the movie.

Directed by Ganesh Chandra, 'Pookie' is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual film. Vijay Antony has also composed the music and handled the editing, while Ganesh Chandra has taken care of the cinematography as well. The story, screenplay, and dialogue are written by Puthiya Parithi. With its emotional love story, fun elements, and simple storytelling style, the 'Pookie' trailer gives a clear promise of a feel-good romantic drama that connects easily with young audiences and couples.
