Property dealer shot dead over land dispute in Muzaffarpur

Patna: A property dealer was shot dead in broad under the Musahari police station area in Muzaffarpur district on Wednesday. The incident took place near Rohua Chowk when the victim, identified as Ankit, was on his motorcycle.

Two bike-borne assailants chased him and fired multiple rounds from close range. The entire attack was captured on CCTV cameras installed nearby.According to police, footage shows Ankit riding his bike wearing a helmet while another motorcycle with two men follows him. The pillion rider comes close—within a foot—and opens fire. As Ankit loses control and begins to fall, the attackers continue shooting, firing at least four more rounds before fleeing the spot.

He collapsed on the road in a pool of blood.Ankit sustained five bullet injuries—one to the head, two to the face and two to the chest. Locals rushed him to Musahari primary health centre, from where he was referred to Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH). Doctors there declared him dead on arrival.Police said Ankit was involved in property dealing and also ran a soil business. Preliminary findings suggest the murder may be linked to a land dispute. Officers reached the spot soon after the incident, cordoned off the area and recovered empty cartridges.Muzaffarpur SSP Kantesh Kumar Mishra said a special team has been constituted to nab the attackers. “Investigations are underway and CCTV footage is being analysed,” said City SP Mohibullah Ansari.
