Public can view South African Cheetahs from June 4 at Bannerghatta Biological Park

The four cheetahs, which were brought from South Africa as part of the wildlife exchange program last month and housed at the BBP will be available for public viewing from June 4.

“These cheetahs which arrived from South Africa on April 18 were kept in quarantine.

Now the quarantine period of the four cheetahs has ended and they will be available for public viewing from June 4,” said Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre.

The minister, who held a meeting with Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden Kumar Pushkar in this regard, said that these cheetahs will be released in a separate enclosure at the BBP.

These cheetahs were kept in quarantine to adapt to the local environment and weather conditions.

Their health was constantly monitored during the quarantine period and checked for infections.
