Suraksha Reloaded road safety concert held in Pune on 18 March 2026, officials announce citywide intelligent traffic system, audience pledges to follow traffic rules.

Influential voices such as Shiv Thakare and Aparna Tandale added to the conversation.
After a strong start in Nagpur, Suraksha Reloaded Concert arrived in Pune, a city rapidly advancing in infrastructure and mobility, now at a pivotal moment to redefine its road culture through the right mix of responsible behaviour and technology. As part of the Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan, an initiative by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in association with NHAI, led by Nitin Gadkari, the focus remains clear to move beyond awareness and turn road safety into everyday practice.
Held on 18th March 2026, the Pune edition brought together influential voices and creative formats to make the message resonate. The evening opened with a powerful sand art performance by Nitish Bharti, who captured the importance of seat belts, discipline, and empathy on the road. Without a single spoken word, the act left the audience reflecting on their own habits.
The tone then shifted to a more grounded reality check with Dr. Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Pune. He acknowledged the efforts of Nitin Gadkari and MoRTH, while addressing the city’s growing traffic concerns. Highlighting common violations like drink and drive, triple riding, and wrong-way driving, he emphasised how momentary negligence can lead to lasting consequences.
Looking ahead, he announced that Pune is set to become the first city with a 100 percent Intelligent Traffic Management System, with 550 junctions being upgraded into smart signals, marking a significant step towards safer and more efficient roads.
Bringing the audience back into a more relatable space, a street play by Pratidhwani Art Studio and Roshan ke Production used everyday scenarios to highlight the campaign’s core message, परवाह से कर्त्तव्य तक. The simplicity of the format made the message easy to connect with and hard to ignore.
Influential voices such as Shiv Thakare and Aparna Tandale added to the conversation, reinforcing the impact of using entertainment to inspire change. The evening concluded with a high-energy performance by the Raaga Fusion Band, keeping the audience engaged.
The most powerful moment, however, came when the entire audience stood together to take a pledge to follow traffic rules and prioritise safety.
What made Pune’s Suraksha Reloaded Concert stand out was its ability to turn awareness into intent. The fact remains safer roads aren’t built in a day, they’re built through the choices people make, every single time they step out.
