Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was admitted to Fortis Hospital Mohali on Sunday for a medical check-up after he reportedly felt unwell in Sangrur, sources told PTI.
According to officials, Mann experienced discomfort while in Sangrur and was subsequently brought to the Mohali-based hospital for examination. Doctors are currently evaluating his condition. The hospital has not yet issued an official statement.
Earlier in the day, Mann, accompanied by Arvind Kejriwal, visited the Shri Rankeshwar Mahadev Shiv Mandir in Dhuri, Sangrur district, to offer prayers on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
Following his hospitalisation, Mann’s scheduled public engagements in Fazilka were cancelled.
This is not the first time the chief minister has been admitted to hospital. In September last year, he was hospitalised due to exhaustion and a low heart rate. Prior to that, he had also received treatment at the same hospital for a bacterial infection.
