Railways to run 13 special trains for police aspirants today

Patna: The East Central Railway (ECR) will run at least 13 special trains on Sunday to ensure hassle-free travel for candidates appearing in the Bihar Police recruitment examination across the state.

Under the initiative, the trains will operate from different stations under the Danapur and Samastipur divisions to help candidates reach their examination centres on time.Danapur senior divisional commercial manager (senior DCM) Abhinav Siddarth said seven special trains will run on key routes — Bakhtiyarpur–Rajgir, Kiul–Gaya, Rajgir–Bakhtiyarpur, Nawada–Jhajha, Buxar–Danapur, Jhajha–Patna and Gaya–Kiul — under the Danapur division.

These have been scheduled to manage the heavy rush of candidates travelling to different districts for the exam, he added.In addition, the Samastipur division will operate six special trains on Sunday connecting Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Bapudham Motihari, Purnia Court and Supaul with Patliputra Junction. Samastipur PRO R K Singh said the services are expected to ease passenger movement towards Patna and nearby exam centres.

Similar arrangements were made on Saturday under the Danapur division, when six special trains were pressed into service on routes including Patliputra–Saharsa, Patna–Bhabua, Patliputra–Bettiah, Patliputra–Purnia Court, Danapur–Araria and Patna–Siwan to facilitate candidates, railway sources said.The move by ECR has been widely appreciated as a proactive step to ensure smooth, safe and timely transportation for thousands of aspirants. Railways have advised candidates to reach stations well in time and follow guidelines to maintain discipline during the journey.
