JAIPUR: Film actor Salman Khan received relief from the Rajasthan State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission Friday, which directed the Jaipur-II District Consumer Commission not to issue an arrest warrant against him in a case related to alleged misleading advertisements of Rajshree Pan Masala. The state sommission observed that if the alleged contemnor does not appear and bailable warrants return unserved, the district commission should refrain from issuing non-bailable arrest warrants. Instead, it should issue fresh bailable warrants in accordance with law. The order was passed by a bench headed by Justice Devendra Kachhawa the president of the commission while hearing an appeal filed by Rajshree Pan Masala. The appeal challenged the Jan 15 order of the Jaipur-II District Consumer Commission, which issued bailable warrants against Salman Khan on a contempt application filed by complainant Yogendra Singh. The district commission also ordered the Jaipur Police Commissioner to ensure execution of the warrants.
