Indians across the country are celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters—Raksha Bandhan. On this day, sisters tie a decorative thread called a Rakhi around their brothers’ wrists. This simple act symbolises love, trust, and a promise of protection. In return, brothers often give gifts and promise to support and protect their sisters in all situations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu also extended their greetings on the auspicious occasion. Taking to X, he wrote, “Best wishes on the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan.”

President Murmu said, “On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens living in India and abroad.” She also shared a beautiful message on the festival.
