Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Monday alleged that the Congress, BRS and the Majlis Party were working together through an ‘internal understanding’ for political gains in the municipal elections.

Speaking to the media in Nizamabad, he said the Majlis Party currently has an understanding with the Congress, just as it previously had with the BRS when it was in power. “These parties have no concern for public issues or development. People should be cautious as the Majlis Party is acting as a mediator between Congress and BRS,” he alleged.

Earlier, addressing an election campaign meeting in Nirmal, he claimed that for the sake of ‘vote‑bank politics’, the Congress and Majlis parties were colluding to provoke the Muslim community, causing ‘division and destruction’ in society. “Their sole aim is political mileage by creating friction among people,” he said.

He further alleged that the BRS and Congress had turned a ‘wealthy’ Telangana into a debt‑ridden State, with students not receiving fee reimbursements, retired employees being denied benefits, and government staff not receiving salaries on time. Farmers, he said, were deprived of Rythu Bandhu.

He added that unemployment continued to trouble the youth, and universities, including Osmania University, were facing a severe shortage of teaching faculty. “These are all failures of BRS–Congress governance,” he maintained and appealed to the voters to support the party for a better future of Telangana since they had already tested other two parties.

At a separate press conference at the party’s State office in Hyderabad, former Minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy cautioned the minority community against being misled by certain Muslim Congress leaders, accusing them of ‘usurping public lands’ and expressing concern that Wakf lands could also be taken away. He asserted that only the BJP could ensure justice for minorities, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan of ‘development for all’.

Meanwhile, BJP general secretary N. Gautam Rao, Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma and party legal cell member R.V. Pavan Maitreya submitted a memorandum to DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy, seeking action against certain police officials allegedly helping ruling‑party candidates by threatening and detaining BJP contenders.
