Bhopal:State caoital’s flagship rail hub, Rani Kamlapati Railway Station, is set to enhance passenger experience with the introduction of an executive lounge that promises comfort and convenience at an affordable price.The facility, opening soon at the city’s modernized station, will be available to travellers at a nominal rate of Rs 50 per hour, offering a quieter and more comfortable alternative to crowded platforms and concourses.Designed for business travellers, senior citizens, and families, the lounge will provide comfortable seating, air-conditioned ambience, and clean washrooms — amenities that reduce travel fatigue and make wait times more pleasant.Dedicated charging points and high-speed Wi-Fi will allow passengers to work, attend virtual meetings, or catch up on emails without interruption, helping busy commuters maintain productivity while in transit.For passengers with longer layovers, the lounge offers a restful environment where children can stay safe and relaxed, and elderly travellers can wait in comfort away from the hustle of the station. The facility’s controlled access will enhance security and privacy, appealing to those who value a calmer pre-boarding experience.

“By pricing the service at Rs 50 per hour, we aim to make premium amenities accessible to a broad cross-section of travellers rather than restricting them to a select few,” said general manager (railway infra and redevelopment projects) Bansal Group, Mohit Samaiya.The modest fee also encourages efficient use of space, allowing more passengers to benefit from the improved infrastructure without imposing heavy costs, he added.Station officials say the executive lounge aligns with broader efforts to upgrade passenger services at Rani Kamlapati, which has undergone recent redevelopment to serve as a modern transport hub.With convenient location inside the station and easy entry, the lounge is expected to quickly become popular among daily commuters and long-distance passengers seeking a superior waiting experience.
