Reel shoot turns fatal, youth dies near Neerasagar

Hubballi: A 22-year-old youth died after getting trapped in a rocky valley while swimming near Neerasagar lake in Kalaghatagi taluk on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Sumit, a resident of Hubballi.According to police, a group of youths had gone to the spot and entered the rocky valley to swim. During the swim, Sumit slipped into the water and got trapped among rocks. He reportedly did not know how to swim and had gone there to shoot reels.Sumit, a resident of Shivashankar Colony near Siddharudha Mutt, died at the scene. Despite a prolonged search, his body could not be located initially. Later, fire brigade personnel were called in, and police reached the spot.

After about an hour of efforts, the team descended into the rocky valley and recovered the body.Police inspector Shrishail Koujalagi confirmed the incident, stating that Sumit died after being trapped in the rocky valley. The incident occurred around 1pm, and the body was recovered in the late evening following a rescue operation by fire personnel.
