Relatives of deceased patient damage hospital furniture in Kurnool

A woman admitted to a private hospital in Kurnool died on Wednesday night. The family, however, alleged that the death was due to medical negligence and damaged hospital furniture.

The deceased woman identified as Anitha, 25, from Pamidi in Anantapur district, was admitted to the hospital as she was suffering from a high fever for over four days.

On Thursday morning, family members and relatives of the woman gathered at the hospital and staged a protest. But the situation got out of hands and the enraged family members vandalised the hospital premises damaging property.

Deputy Superintendent of Police J. Babu Prasad along with the personnel rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control after nearly a hour. The family members lodged a complaint against the hospital management alleging negligence, while the latter lodged a complaint for property damage.
