Reliance Jio has solidified its position as the leading

telecom operator in Delhi

, commanding a customer market share of 35.81% with over 2 crore subscribers as of July 2025, according to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).The TRAI report paints a broader picture of growth in India's telecommunications sector. The country’s total wireless subscriber base, which includes both mobile and 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), saw a marginal increase of 0.09%, rising to 1,171.91 million at the end of July. This growth was primarily fueled by urban areas, which added 3.16 million new subscribers, bringing their total to 641.03 million. In contrast, rural subscriptions saw a decline of 2.12 million, falling to 530.88 million.Urban areas now account for 54.70% of the total wireless subscriber base, while rural areas make up 45.30%. This number is also reflected in the tele-density figures, with urban wireless tele-density improving to 125.74% while rural tele-density declined to 58.57%.Focusing on mobile subscriptions specifically, a similar pattern emerged. Urban mobile subscriptions grew by 0.45% to 636.02 million, while rural mobile subscriptions decreased by 0.45% to 527.49 million.Nationally, a total of 15.41 million subscribers opted for Mobile Number Portability (MNP) in July, indicating a continued desire for flexibility and choice among users.
