Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar on Saturday demanded a complete farm loan waiver and warned the Mahayuti government of a "jail bharo" agitation if it attempted to suppress the party's statewide 'Yalgar Annadatyacha' protest scheduled for June 29.As part of the mobilisation drive, Pawar held meetings in Beed and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, urging farmers across Maharashtra to join the agitation. The Sambhajinagar protest will be held at Cambridge Chowk on Monday morning.Referring to the party's earlier hunger strike in Pandharpur, Pawar alleged that the govt had reneged on its assurances to farmers. "We observed a hunger strike in Pandharpur, but the govt failed to honour the word it had given.
Girish Mahajan did not fulfil the assurances made there. Our demand remains a complete farm loan waiver," he said.Pawar also escalated his attack over the alleged TET paper leak, demanding the resignation of the higher and technical education minister. Speaking in Beed, he said the govt had repeated the mistakes seen during the NEET controversy."The same happened with NEET in 2024 and again in 2026. Officers held responsible in 2024 were promoted instead of being punished.
If papers continue to leak, it points to corruption and a market where students' futures are being sold. Around 4.5 lakh students appear for NEET. The govt has made a mockery of their future, and those responsible should resign on moral grounds," he said.He said TET candidates, along with thousands of farmers, would participate in Sunday's protest. "If the govt tries to crush our movement, we will launch a Jail Bharo agitation," he warned.Targeting BJP MLA Rajesh Kshirsagar, Pawar alleged that commissions of one to two per cent, amounting to Rs 40 lakh to Rs 60 lakh, were being openly demanded. "It should be investigated who ultimately receives this money. MLAs in this govt have mastered the art of printing money," he alleged.Pawar also attacked state minister Sanjay Shirsat, referring to an alleged video showing sacks of cash. He alleged that Shirsat had benefited from irregularities in CIDCO projects and claimed the matter would eventually be proved in the Supreme Court.
"We will ensure he is not elected again. Whenever we begin exposing facts, he goes into hiding," Pawar said.On reports of a Union cabinet expansion, Pawar claimed newly inducted MPs from Maharashtra were likely to be rewarded with ministerial berths at the expense of earlier defectors. He also hinted that a senior Maharashtra leader from a major political party could soon move to Delhi for a key organisational role, while another leader could be elevated in the state
