Rohit Shetty home firing: Accused from Agra arrested

Agra/Mumbai: Another wanted criminal allegedly involved in the firing at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai was arrested from Chhadami Mattha area on the Agra-Etawah Road under Bah police station on Thursday evening.STF additional S P Rajkumar said technical analysis and intelligence sharing between Mumbai police crime branch and UP STF led to the arrest of accused Pradeep Kumar (28), a resident of Ashok Nagar in Agra. “During interrogation, accused Kumar revealed that he was influenced by posts of the Shubham Lonkar gang on Facebook and Instagram and planned to assert his dominance. Along with his associates Sunny, Deepu and Sonu, he went to Mumbai and participated in the firing incident at Rohit Shetty’s residence,” an STF official told TOI on the condition of anonymity.Kumar (22) was present at the scene of crime along with the shooter Deepak Sharma, crime branch officials in Mumbai said. With the arrest of Kumar, the number of arrests in the case touched 15. The city crime branch has already applied the stringent sections of Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act and the chargesheet has also been filed.The firing took place on the night of Feb 1, 2026, at ‘Shetty Tower’ in Juhu. The attack was allegedly carried out at the behest of the Shubham Lonkar gang to extort money and engender fear within the film industry and among the public.Kumar was brought to Mumbai and a local court here remanded Kumar to police custody.
