Round 1 intake ends, 27,000 engineering seats vacant in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: The admission committee has completed the first round of degree engineering seat allotments in Gujarat. Out of 41,688 participating students, 33,993 were allotted seats, while 7,687 left empty-handed due to insufficient choices.Accounting for nearly 50% occupancy, 33,993 of the total 61,316 available seats were filled. Admitted students must pay their token tuition fee online by June 30 to confirm their seats. The committee clarified that no original documents or additional fees are mandatory to participate in subsequent rounds.While 45 colleges achieved 100% occupancy, 29 colleges filled less than 10% of their seats, and one institution recorded zero admissions.

Computer science and engineering remained the top pick, sweeping 15,283 allotments. Govt and grant-in-aid colleges filled all 10,969 seats, whereas self-financed institutions filled just 20,817 of 48,140 seats. Total first-round admissions rose by roughly 4,000 students compared to last year’s 30,305.

Fresh registrations for Round 2 will open from July 1 to July 5.Pharmacy mock allotment done: The pharmacy mock round allotment is also complete, filling 6,784 of the 8,637 available seats. The merit list included 13,488 students based on GUJCET scores, and 9,464 students participated in the mock round. Students must modify or refill choices by June 30 for the actual first round of allotments on July 2.Among the allotted seats, 5,180 are in self-financed degree pharmacy colleges, 412 under TFW, and 235 in diploma pharmacy courses.
