RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed a gathering on Independence Day in Bhubaneshwar and emphasised India’s unique role in the global quest for peace and happiness. He highlighted the country’s rich spiritual heritage and called upon the nation to take responsibility for guiding the world towards a new era of harmony.
“India is a unique country," Bhagwat said. “It strives to bring peace and happiness to the world and to share its Dharma with others. Our freedom struggle was not merely for political independence but to ensure that every individual in our country could attain happiness, courage, security, peace, and respect."
Reflecting on the challenges faced by the world today, he noted that despite countless experiments and efforts spanning over 2000 years, lasting solutions to global problems remain elusive. He then urged Indians to look inward and offer the world a new vision—one rooted in religious and cultural principles that foster universal well-being.
“It is our duty to provide the world with a solution and create a new world filled with happiness and peace based on our vision, rooted in religious principles," he said.
His remark came after he unfurled the national flag at Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti in Bhubaneswar.
