Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared an earnest post, as it had been eight years since Arjun Reddy, his successful debut film, released in theatres. The film was released on August 25, 2017, and starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles. It became a cultural icon in the Telugu film industry.

The 'Animal' director shared a throwback video on Instagram featuring himself and Vijay Deverakonda, seated across a table and enjoying a candid chat during the making of the film. Along with the video, the director penned a deeply emotional message on how Arjun Reddy had changed the course of his life and career.
"8 years ago, Arjun Reddy changed my life forever. What started as a story close to my heart became a movement, only because of your love and relentless support," wrote Vanga.
Forever grateful to his team
He went on to thank fans, his actors, and the crew, acknowledging their contributions to making the film a timeless memory. He further wrote, "Every frame, every dialogue, every emotion in this film found meaning because you embraced it with such honesty and passion. I remain forever grateful to my actors, my team, and most importantly to all of you who continue to celebrate Arjun Reddy even after all these years. Here's to 8 years of a journey that still feels fresh, raw, and alive.

Arjun Reddy holds a cult status among its fans. Its unapologetically raw narrative, strong performances and unconventional storytelling created a fan frenzy. The movie also led to criticism for allegedly promoting misogyny and substance abuse.The film had such an impact that it got remade in several languages, including Hindi, 'Kabir Singh' starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, also directed by Vanga. The movie also turned out to be a blockbuster.
