The food safety teams of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) found hygiene violations during inspections at a few restaurants in Hyderabad on Monday (July 6, 2026). The violations included unlabelled prepared food, water stagnation near drains, lack of hot water for sanitising utensils, inadequate storage for expired food products and poor kitchen maintenance.
Itlu - A Veg Diner’s hygiene score of 82%
At Itlu - A Veg Diner in the Financial District, inspection revealed that there was no hot water provision for sanitising cooking utensils. Water stagnation and food waste were observed near drains, while employees’ clothes were kept close to the food preparation area. Food containers were not properly labelled. Prepared food items, including hara bhara kebab, beetroot tikka, onion rings, hello gravy and sweet corn, were found without labels and were discarded on the spot. Dust accumulation was observed on the store room ceiling. The team also flagged the claim ‘The Purest Water on Earth’ displayed on glass water bottles as potentially misleading and directed the food business operator to discontinue its use. The establishment scored 82% in the hygiene assessment.

Pista House Fine Dining’s hygiene score of 90%
At Pista House Fine Dining in Preston Mall, Gachibowli, officials observed minor flaking at one location and instructed the management to undertake immediate rectification. The restaurant did not have a separate designated space for storing expired food products because of inadequate storage facilities, while water testing reports were not available during the inspection. The establishment scored 90% in the hygiene assessment.

Roast 24x7 hygiene score of 95%
At Roast 24x7 in Telecom Nagar, Gachibowli, inspectors found that one freezer door required maintenance and advised the restaurant to strengthen periodic cooking oil quality checks. The establishment scored 95% in the hygiene assessment.

KFC’s hygiene score of 96%
At the KFC outlet in Shilpakala Vedika, officials observed that drains near the kitchen required improved cleaning. The establishment scored 96% in the hygiene assessment.
