Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh accused the Bharatiya Janata Party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Amit Shah of orchestrating 'Operation Lotus' to destabilise the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government. Addressing the media, Singh stated that seven AAP Rajya Sabha MPs—Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, Rajinder Gupta, Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Ashok Mittal, Swati Maliwal, and Harbhajan Singh—have defected to the BJP. He condemned the defectors, stating, 'These seven people have stabbed the people of Punjab in the back.' Singh highlighted the AAP government's achievements in Punjab, including 300 units of free electricity, improved education, canal water restoration, financial aid for women, and free medical treatment up to 10 lakh rupees. He alleged that the BJP is misusing central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation to intimidate leaders, pointing out a recent ED raid on Ashok Mittal just days before his defection. Singh warned that the people of Punjab will never forgive these 'traitors' for betraying their mandate and halting the state's progress.
