Ahmedabad: As part of the push for participative and doorstep delivery of justice, the Supreme Court decided to launch Supreme Court Action for Mediated Adjudication and Disputes Harmonisation Across Nation (SAMADHAN) Samaroh, which commenced on April 21 and will culminate in Special Lok Adalat between Aug 21 and 23, 2026.According to the legal services authority, the Special Lok Adalat is intended to facilitate amicable settlement of pending matters before the apex court through consent-based dispute resolution mechanisms, including mediation and negotiated compromise. The programme is designed to reduce litigation burdens and encourage parties to resolve disputes without prolonged adversarial hearings.The SC has invited advocates, litigants and other stakeholders to participate actively in the process. Parties will be able to engage in settlement discussions either in person or virtually through an online platform, enabling wider access for those unable to attend physically in New Delhi.
