A school bus carrying around 50 children overturned near Kondhwad village in the Rahuri area of Maharashtra’s Ahilyanagar district on Saturday morning, injuring several students.
According to initial information, around 15 children sustained injuries in the accident, while one student is reported to be in critical condition. No fatalities have been reported.
Residents and police personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and shifted the injured students to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
Following the accident, all students were evacuated from the overturned bus, and the injured were admitted to the hospital. One child continues to remain in critical condition.

Chembur Tragedy
In a similar incident, an 11-year-old student, Vihan Shrivastav, lost his life and four other children were injured after a large peepal tree collapsed onto a school bus in Mumbai’s Chembur on June 30.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) received information about the incident at 2:58 pm. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the tree, located along Road No. 11 near Heritage Pride, was uprooted and fell on a Universal High School bus, a Force Motors vehicle bearing registration number MH03/CV-7439.
The bus was carrying 12 students when the tree crashed onto it, trapping several children inside.
Before emergency teams reached the spot, the bus conductor and residents began rescuing the students. Fire brigade personnel and police later joined the operation and safely evacuated all 12 children from the bus.
The BMC said five students were taken to Zen Hospital in Chembur for treatment. Four of them sustained minor injuries and are in stable condition.
The fifth student, Vihan Shrivastav (11), suffered critical injuries and was declared dead at 4:23 pm by the on-duty medical officer, Dr Sadhana, at Zen Hospital.
