School student stabbed in Vembayam

A 16-year-old Plus Two student was stabbed by a youth in Vembayam on Tuesday after she reportedly rejected his advances.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Sahad Mohammed, who hails from Panavoor.

The incident occurred around 12.30 p.m. at Kanyakulangara when the girl was headed towards her home. The accused, who is suspected to have been waiting in a car, allegedly attacked the girl using a knife. She sustained stab wounds in her neck. She has been admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital with critical injuries.

The Vattappara have registered a case in connection with the incident.
