SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava instructed RPF personnel deployed on trains to remain highly vigilant to ensure passenger safety and maintain discipline. Emphasis was laid on strictly preventing smoking and consumption of alcohol inside trains and within railway premises during the weekly safety review meeting held at Rail Nilayam on Monday.

He also reviewed the status of CCTV installation at stations, goods sheds and non‑interlocked level crossing gates. Further, the GM assessed the progress of track‑fencing works across various locations in the zone to prevent cattle run‑over incidents, and advised divisions to complete the pending works at the earliest.

Safety drives and inspections are imperative, particularly at points and crossings, he reminded the divisional managers. He also stressed the need to strengthen fire‑safety arrangements and ensure removal of construction materials near tracks soon after completion of related works, according to a press release.
