Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been in favour of the farmers and continues to prioritise their welfare in international trade agreements, said Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Taking to X, Chouhan said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been in favour of the farmers. All his decisions have been taken in favour of the farmers. His plans have changed their lives."
Talking about the recent trade agreement signed with the United States, the Union Minister said that the deal is designed to protect the interests of the domestic agricultural sector.
Chouhan noted that the Prime Minister’s decisions consistently aim to improve the lives of those in the farming community through strategic planning and policy shifts.
The Agriculture Minister emphasised that the agreement specifically addresses the needs of farmers who produce various staples. “The farmers who produce grains like wheat, rice, corn, soya and other grains have been taken care of," Chouhan said.
He further explained that the deal ensures protection for those involved in different segments of the industry. According to the Minister, “The farmers who produce fruits and vegetables have also been protected in this agreement."
Talking about the exposure to the international market, Chouhan said that beyond spices, several other commodities are expected to benefit from increased international exposure. “Spices, coffee, tea, marine products, and many other things will get a new market," he said.
Union Minister Dharmendra Singh Pradhan also talked about PM Modi’s visionary leadership and said that “India will never compromise on the interests of our ‘Annadatas’."
“Farmers’ interests are fully protected, dairy and poultry are safeguarded, and exports are expanding, directly strengthening livelihoods," Pradhan said, adding, “On the global stage, India has delivered a historic win by securing duty-free access to the US for garment and textile exports, injecting fresh momentum into industry, manufacturing, and India’s global economic presence.

BJP Attacks Rahul Gandhi
In addition to this, the Minister also slammed Rahul Gandhi and Congress party for spreading misinformation, theatrics, and divisive politics.
Accusing the Congress of doing nothing to address the real concerns of our farmers, Pradhan attacked them for repeatedly tying to downplay India’s global achievements. “Their politics thrives not on solutions, but on denial, distortion, and manufactured outrage," he added.
Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal also on Thursday hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him a “habitual liar" and accusing him of misleading farmers with what he termed a “fake narrative" regarding the recent trade agreement with the United States.
In a self-made video posted on X, Goyal alleged that Rahul Gandhi had “broken all records of speaking falsehood" and made “baseless allegations" in a video released earlier in the day.
He further accused the Congress leader of attempting to provoke farmers.
“Rahul Gandhi is a habitual liar…In a video released today, he has broken all records of speaking falsehood and made baseless allegations. He is misleading our farmers with his fake narrative and trying to provoke them," he said.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been empathetic towards our farmers. He has always put the interest of farmers first and taken all decisions to ensure their prosperity…In the recent trade deal with the United States of America, the interests of farmers have been kept paramount and fully protected…," Goyal said in the video.
