SCR to run 160 ‘Holi’ special trains

South Central Railway (SCR) has announced that it would be operating a record number of 160 ‘Holi’ special trains covering key routes such as Visakhapatnam, Patna, Rajkot, Solapur, Bilaspur, Danapur, Raxaul, Naharlagun, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Shalimar, Hisar, Lucknow, Santragachi, Malda Town, Chhapra and various other important destinations in March.

The return services from all these destinations have also been planned, providing balanced connectivity and convenience for passengers traveling both ways. Nationwide, there is a plan to run up to 1500 special trains, said a press release on Thursday (February 6, 2026).
