Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan said in a social media post on Friday that “protecting the Hindu dharma does not mean being against other faiths, and that it simply means safeguarding one’s own.”

Mr. Pawan Kalyan observed that every devotee carried a “dharmic responsibility,” and it was time to come out of the slumber and convenience of an average Hindu mind.

“When someone desecrates Hindu Gods, or mocks our dharma, we often feel hurt in private, leave it to karma, and move on. This must change. Though we may be divided by caste, creed, region, and language, dharma is one and the Gods remain the same,” he asserted.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan said it was the duty of every devotee to voice his or her pain when the Hindu dharma and faith were mocked with malicious intent.

“Silence in such moments weakens the collective conscience. Beyond being devotees, we must act as conscious guardians of our faith,” he added.
