Scribe wins state-level short story contest

Chitradurga: Journalist and writer KP Omkaramurthy has won first prize in the state-level short story and poetry competition organised recently as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of the Raichur Reporters Guild.

Omkaramurthy’s short story, ‘Deadline’, secured the top prize in the short story category. The award will be presented during the guild’s silver jubilee celebrations scheduled for the last week of Aug. A native of Chitradurga, KP Omkaramurthy is a young journalist and writer who has carved a niche for himself in both journalism and literature. He completed his bachelor’s degree in journalism at Maharaja’s College, Mysuru, and later earned a postgraduate degree in journalism and mass communication from the department of journalism and mass communication at Manasagangotri, University of Mysore.
