Serbian basketball player Boban Marjanovic was recently seen playing the triangle before Arizona's band took on BYU. As he watched Arizona host BYU at McKale Memorial Center on Wednesday, the former NBA star continued to give it his all in college.Marjanovic met and greeted fans at the AT&T Dunk District while in Los Angeles for the NBA All-Star Game this weekend. He is now performing professionally in Slovenia, but if fans are looking for him abroad, they can find him in two episodes of MGM+'s new Robin Hood series as Drago.
Boban Marjanovic’s unexpected college band moment adds a fun twist to his post-NBA journey
Boban Marjanovic, a Serbian basketball player, has been pursuing an acting career in addition to being in the NBA and abroad for the past few years.
He was sitting with the University of Arizona band on Wednesday night as the No. 4 Wildcats defeated BYU. He was seen sitting in with a college pep band while playing the triangle. As Marjanovic was wearing Arizona's colors and brandishing a triangle, it was easy to identify him in the crowd. Now that his NBA career was almost done, he was enjoying every moment of college while sitting next to the Wildcats' school band.
During his visit, he said:"We just recently finished the Robin Hood TV series. It's fun… Of course, my role is not huge, but I really have fun to be in that TV show where they have good ratings and good reputation so far."
It is the most recent destination on Marjanovic's entertaining college trip. He even participated in the Wildcats' newspaper stunt while sitting with students at Gampel Pavilion during last week's women's match between Villanova and Creighton. Before that, he entertained the audience during a break in the game while watching Villanova play Marquette at Finneran Pavilion.However, it is still unclear if Marjanovic is just watching college basketball as a fan or if he's doing it for a documentary or internet material.

Marjanovic has made seven film and television appearances since 2019, including a recent cameo in Happy Gilmore 2. The 37-year-old expressed his desire to raise his on-screen presence in the upcoming years in an interview with Men's Journal this past weekend. He said: "I hope somebody, a producer, calls me and says, 'Hey, Boban, we want you. We want you in the Game of Thrones. We want you to be in a James Bond movie. We want you to be in a Marvel movie. We want you to be a superhero, you know?’”During the 2023-24 NBA season, Marjanovic last played for the Houston Rockets.
He played in the NBA for nine years in total, including two stints with the Los Angeles Clippers from 2017 to 2019.Some of the fans he met this weekend at the AT&T Dunk District have followed him dating back to his time in LA, making these past few days extra meaningful. About the same, he said: "You know, it's so amazing. To get out to my fans, to be around the people, to remember how my days were when I played for the Clippers… Of course, it's my family.
I lived here for two years. It's been amazing to be part of all this."Earlier this month, Marjanović sat with the Villanova student section for the Wildcats' victory over Marquette. After that, he went to a UConn women's game and even got a byline in the online version of the school newspaper. He seems to be enjoying his time off from the NBA.
