Seven Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in Hyderabad were apprehended by the Jeedimetla police during a search operation conducted in the Gajularamaram–Jeedimetla area, and steps have been initiated to deport them to Bangladesh.

According to the police, the operation was launched following credible intelligence inputs indicating that a group of Bangladeshi nationals was staying illegally in a rented house in the HAL Colony under the limits of Jeedimetla police station.

During questioning, the police found that none of them possessed valid passports, visas or any other travel documents permitting their stay in India. Preliminary investigation revealed that the individuals had entered the country illegally and had been residing in different parts of India.

All seven were subsequently taken into custody. The police obtained the necessary detention and restriction-on-movement orders against the apprehended individuals.

The detainees are being shifted to the Deportation Centre at Jogipet in Medak district. Police said the process for their deportation has been initiated in accordance with legal procedures.

After completion of the required formalities and verification by the competent authorities, they will be deported and repatriated to their places of origin in Bangladesh, police added.
