Surat: The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) organised an informative event titled ‘Investment Forum 2.0’ with the view to spread awareness about proper investment in the rapidly changing economic situation.
Ridham Desai, Managing Director, Morgan Stanley India, expressed his views on the topic ‘India Post War: To Be or Not to Be’. Analyzing the impact of global political and economic conditions on India, he said that even amidst global uncertainties, India is moving forward strongly on the path of development. He advised investors to invest conservatively with a long-term view.
He said that India has full potential to gain an important position globally in the coming decades, because the country has important pillars like young population, rapid digital development and strong economic structure. Due to changes in the global supply chain and geopolitical conditions, India is being seen as an option for manufacturing and investment.
He had added that investors should have faith in the country’s long-term growth potential rather than being influenced by short-term market fluctuations. Only by adopting proper asset allocation, diversification and disciplined investment methods can investors earn consistent and stable returns.
Desai further said that sectors like technology, infrastructure, electricity and energy management will see huge growth in the future, which will create new opportunities for investors, hence information-based and thoughtful decisions are essential for success in investment.
After the keynote address, a panel discussion on long-term investing in equities was held, in which the panelists were introduced by Ridham Desai and he moderated the entire session.
As a panelist, Govind Parikh, Founder of Govind Parikh Securities, provided guidance to investors based on his experience. He said that to achieve success in the equity market, patience, discipline and long-term perspective are very important. He laid emphasis on ignoring short-term market fluctuations and investing in quality companies.
