Shivamogga district traffic police collect ₹1.27 crore in fines

The Shivamogga traffic police collected ₹1.27 crore in penalties from traffic rule violators over the last 20 days, a period during which a 50% discount was offered to clear pending e-challans.

According to a communique issued by the district police, between June 21 and July 10, the traffic police cleared 30,218 e-challans and collected ₹1,27,95,250 in fines under the special discount drive.

The district police thanked the public for their response to the initiative, and appealed to motorists to cooperate with the department by following traffic rules to ensure the safety of both motorists and pedestrians.
