Shivamogga district police has appealed to the public to ensure their safety by following traffic rules, stating that it has implemented an e-challan system through the Intelligent Traffic Management System.
In a press release issued on Sunday, the district police stated that from April 1, the police staff in police station limits would stop those violating the traffic rules and slap them with a fine immediately. In addition, the police issue e-challans by capturing the photographs of traffic violators using GPS-enabled cameras. The district police have installed automatic number-plate recogniser cameras at different locations to identify traffic rule violators.
The police advised the motorists to follow the rules strictly and also appealed to them to clear the pending e-challan fines. The motorists can clear the pending fines at any police station or can pay the traffic police staff who carry e-challan personal digital assistant (PDA) machines. Besides that, the vehicle owners can clear the dues by visiting - https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/index/accused-challan.
